I believe that Indigenous people already have several voices to Parliament & like all MPs & Senators, they were democratically elected by their communities. So why should one group of people be afforded anymore than that? They already receive vast amounts of money, distributed to several different committees & organisations set up to help them. If that isn’t working, FIX THOSE PROBLEMS rather than create a whole other system. Get good people like Jacinta Price & Warren Mundine to help sort out those problems & to cut out the rotting by several of these groups. It seems a lot of the money is lining the pockets of those in charge. SORT THAT OUT!
I’m all for helping vulnerable Indigenous Australians who are trapped in horrendous conditions of domestic violence. So get these people the help they need because this is all about land rights & payment, just as the UN is sticking its nose into our affairs ie, the Uluru Statement. Wake up PM!
