I am adding my voice as a permanent resident in Australia for 12 years. I support a National Voice representative of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people that speaks to Commonwealth government on policy and legislation. This National Voice must become part of the Constitution in recognition of the fundamental contribution that the first people of Australia bring to this country in the past, now and into the future. Over 65,000 years of continuous culture is a treasure trove that should be welcomed as the bedrock of Australia and nurtured by all of us who live here. I am seeking to become a citizen this year and will be prouder as an Australian with this recognition in place an process to include in the constitution underway.
