My listening to our First Nation people indicates that they want a voice in Parliament. As first nations people, I recognise they should have a seat at the table. This is to also recognise long term structural marginalisation (evidence in many indicators, low life expectancy, deaths in custody, prison), and the necessity of people's participation in initiatives that impact on them. This process of co-design and listening to indigenous voice must not be token. It must finally be taken seriously, passed via referendum (with a serious education agenda by government outlining why this is important) and legislation. No more deceit, and lies from White government.
