Australia would become a far more balanced and supportive nation for everyone if we could make peace with our horrific and traumatic past. It’s time for truth telling of the stories of the dispossession, removal of children and the stripping of cultural identities and the massacres that continue to be raw within our hearts. Truth telling will help us in our path of healing and will also assist in bringing us together and grow within our communities. A constitutional voice to parliament will be a powerful alignment for all First Nations people to ensure that their voices are heard. As an Aboriginal woman I support the voice and the statement from the heart.
