Like many non-Indigenous Australians, I have read the Uluru Statement from the Heart many times and find it a generous gift with deep counsel for next steps as a nation. This consultation process unprecedented in size and significance recommended a Voice to PARLIAMENT (not to government). I fully support a Voice to PARLIAMENT. It is entirely right that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples should have the highest mechanism possible to co-decide, oversee and evaluate policies that affect them. Imagine if we had had such a mechanism in those times when decisions such as removal of children, incarceration of people with leprosy even though there were no other countries in the world doing this, housing design .... the list of policy travesties goes on. Now is the time to accept and deliver the Voice to PARLIAMENT
