As an Australian of European origin, I support the Uluru Statement of the Heart.

I call on the Australian Government and Parliament for the establishment of a First Nations Voice, to be enshrined in the Australian Constitution. This step is essential for Australia as a nation to grow.

Our country MUST acknowledge, in a serious and meaningful way, in law, the original inhabitants and owners of this country. We have so much to learn from our First Nations people and recognising them in the Australian Constitution is the only fair and honest way forward.

Taking this step is vital for us all, indigenous and non-indigenous. It needs to be done NOW – all Australians will be richer for the change.

 

 

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners and custodians of country throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to the people, the cultures and the Elders past, present and emerging.
