In 2017 the Uluru Statement from the Heart expressed the need for a Makarrata and a fair and
truthful relationship between first nations and later arriving peoples.

It is time for us, the people of Australia to respond through the Parliament and Government
honouring in its commitment to hold a referendum in the next term of the federal Parliament and
thereafter to establish a representative body to Voice the will of the First Nations Peoples.

It is time for us, the people of Australia to do a new thing – to create a widely representative body
that will Voice the needs, aspirations and intentions of indigenous people of the cities, rural towns
and remote communities. That Voice will be informed by the knowledge, skills and experience of
those of who have had the advantage of advanced education and those who carry the wisdom of
deep history. That Voice will be a platform for men and women from all across Australia, from
known and recognised authority figures and emerging younger, unacknowledged leadership to
work together to articulate an independent Voice to the Government and Parliament of this
nation.

We can walk together to build a future for all Australians when we have built a structure to give
Voice to the First Nations people to speak with clarity and authority to the Parliament of Australia.
This is a FAIR, PRACTICAL and SAFE proposal which will unify our nation. The time is right.
