To my representative,

I am writing to passionately advocate for a permanent, indigenous voice to parliament. For too long, our First Nations people have been treated as second class citizens, without any real power to self-determination. They have suffered generations of trauma at the hands of a colonial and often racist state. After listening at length to First Nations sisters and brothers I believe this voice to parliament will be the most powerful way forward in healing this nation.

I am writing to ask that as my representative you advocate and fight for the following:

The Australian government must honour promise to deliver a referendum once the framework for the Voice has been agreed upon. Once the referendum has been held, legislation must be enacted. This needs to happen before the next term of parliament. The membership model for the National Voice must ensure all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have the same chance of being selected as established leadership figures.

Thank you for listening. Please stand on the right side of history and advance this nation with healing and truth.
