I support the Uluru statement from the heart. Our government must honour its election commitment to a referendum once a model for the voice has been settled.
Legislation enabling the voice must be passed after the referendum has been held in the next term of parliament.
The membership model for the National voice must ensure previously unheard Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander people have the same chance of being selected as established leadership figures.
I believe This is a fair way to enshrine The Aboriginal and Torres Straight islander voice into the constitution.
Without social justice we can't succeed as a civil society. The time for change as called for in the Uluru Statement from the heart is Now!!!
