Why do you think the Uluru Statement from the Heart is important?
It provides a launchpad to reconciliation between traditional Australians and modern Australians.
Why do you think it's important to enshrine the Voice to Parliament in the Constitution, rather than include it only in legislation?
Legislation is open to interpretation. Enshrinement in the Constitution offers security.
How could a Voice to Parliament improve the lives of your community?
So issues sensitive to Indigenous Australians can be aired, reasons can be explained and potential solutions tabled.
Why is it important for Indigenous people to have a say in the matters that affect them?
It is important for all Australians to have a say in the matters that affect them, and Indigenous Australians are Australians. They must be represented.
Australia cannot move forward as a nation until it is unified. Traumas of the past must be laid to rest through dialogue and reconciliation. Indigenous Australians must be given a fair chance to represent themselves help solve their own problems and the nation's issues.
Yours sincerely
