My wife and I have spent the last 65 years working with 1st Nation people. People like aunty Marg Tucker, Aunty Geraldine Briggs, Harold Blair, Doug Nichols, Bill Onus,Stuart Murray, Kim Beasley Sen, (and many Moore) to give our support for their their just rights in their country,through our association with the Uniting Church, the M.U.A ,The Labor Party and Initiatives of Change,Over three generations .At 91 and 88 we feel the Uluru Statement From The The Heart is a timely statement, an idea who’s time has come. .Australia will be judged by the rest of the world by your committees decision to endorse or reject the ULURU STATEMENT. Australia cannot move forward until we put right the wrongs of the past through truth telling and give a voice to be heard in our parliament, or leave it as it is, where 250 years ago. There is an old saying,“GOOD IS THE ENEMY OF THE BEST” Surely 65,000 years of care and love of nation deserves the BEST.
