Dear Secretariat

Interim report of 21January 2021 - Co-design Process

We support the Uluru Statement from the Heart and offer the following
feedback-

i) the Voice should be to the Parliament not just the Government;

ii) the Voice should be enshrined in the Australian Constitution and
not legislated until it is in the Constitution;

iv) all members of the Voice should be indigenous;

v) no members of the Voice should be appointed by the
Government

vi) the Voice should have longterm funding which gives it the
capacity to commission expert advice;

vii) as the purpose of the Voice is to provide advice, it should not
have the distraction to administer programs as there are government and
non-government bodies with that responsibility.;

viii) we are confident the nation is ready to accept the very generous
offer from our indigenous people contained in the Uluru Statement from the
Heart.
