I fully support the Voice from the Heart including Indigenous voice in the Australian Constitution. I believe this is a very reasonable and long overdue initiative.
So many of the initiatives over the last 200 years have failed to provide a voice or close the gap. As a descendant of English and European ancestry I am ashamed of how First People s have been treated and the catastrophic results of this.
First Peoples need to be heard and determine their future within the Australia now so affected by what colonisation has done.
It's important that all First Peoples are represented as they have come from different areas and have different languages. Gender, youth and disability interests need to be represented to provided relevant views.
All Australians have much to learn from the culture of First Australians and justice needs to prevail over the wrongs of the past.
Please provide a self determining voice so all Australians can work together with dignity, respect, hope and fulfilment. So many initiatives have failed in the past and without recognition in the Constitution we continue history's injustice and mistakes and continue to lose the respect of other nations.
