My name is Margaret Lavocah and my reason for making this submission is to support Australia's First Nations Peoples [Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders ] to be included in our Constitution This is vital otherwise we cannot honestly call ourselves a Nation. Essentially this Nation of Australia is a 'Stolen 'Nation until we [Caucasians ] come to some agreement /Treaty with the People who were here before us Our First Nations People have worked very very hard to come to such an agreement with The Uluru Statement from the Heart which unfortunately been rejected by our Liberal Government Leadership Australia would mature and become a wonderful Nation if we could respect and acknowledge our First Nations thus allowing Aboriginal Peoples to make decisions for and about themselves I believe Australia is the only remaining Colonial [British] Country that has Not as yet negotiated a treaty /agreement with the people who were here before us
