I believe it is extremely important that there are both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island
voices in Parliament. Achieving this would:
- Act as one of the first steps to uniting the peoples of this nation
- Allow First Nation individuals to speak on behalf of their people and voice opinions
and new ideas, including new solutions regarding current challenges that the
indigenous people of Australia face.

Therefore, I:

1. Request the Government to honour its election commitment to a referendum once a
model for the Voice has been settled;
2. Ask for legislation for the Voice to be passed after a referendum has been held in the
next term of Parliament;
3. Request that the National Voice member model must be a model that ensures all
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island grassroot voices are heard.
