I grew up in Melbourne and lived in Adelaide the Cambridge until moving Bach k to Australia ten years ago. We were living in Adelaide at the time of the 1967 referendum when First Nations people were counted and laws made for them. It is time that they have a say in matters that concern them.

I think it is essential that the Voice be enshrined in the Constitution, else succeeding governments could
Weaken or even abolish it. First Nations people have suffered inter generational trauma, so long term
policies and consistency are required.

First Nations people have a lot to offer us as they have lived and cared for this land for centuries
The government must honour its election commitment to a referendum once a model for the Voice has been settled. The Uluru Statement of the Heart is supported by the Australian People
