This proposal is outrageous. The Australian system if government is based upon the principle of one person, one vote. To have a special interest group with additional powers ensconced within parliament cannot be allowed, especially when this group is selected entirely on the basis of race. The whole idea of putting additional power in the hands of one group within society goes against every ideal that Australia stands for today. I worry about where this country is going when seemingly intelligent people can even think that ideas such as this are acceptable.
