At a time in our history when nothing is certain, when a pandemic has us in its grip, when
fire and flood has become so regular, when far-right supremacists are sadly gaining
momentum, it is imperative that we counteract this and other maladies in society with
increased compassion. One concrete way of achieving this is to give a VOICE to first
Nations People here in our great country. It is an absolute sin that we have not attended to
this sooner. Before white man’s arrival, the Aborigines lived in harmony. We changed that
to their detriment. The time has come to rectify this. A voice enshrined in the constitution is
not only fair but also a practical and safe proposal that will unify our great nation.
